To those of you that want to save some moolah by doing your own car repairs, here are a few safety tips: Before starting anything make sure that your vehicle is parked on a flat surface and that the wheels are properly chocked/blocked so that the vehicle can’t roll off when jacking it up! If you’re going work underneath the vehicle you’ll have to raise it up using a good vehicle jack. Once the car is raised sufficiently to allow you to lay under it make sure that it is securely supported using proper Jack stands that will support the vehicle. DO NOT slip under the vehicle if it is NOT properly supported! DO NOT slip under the vehicle while the engine is running. If you’re going to work under the hood the first thing you should do is to disconnect the Battery to avoid any accidental shock and/or engine starts. DO NOT wear loose/flapping clothes while under the hood. If the engine was recently running be careful not to touch any engine parts particularly any exhaust parts as they may still be extremely hot. Also DO NOT open any Radiator/Cooling System caps or you may get a surprise hot shower.

If you’re expecting to replace any parts make sure that the replacement parts are the same type and/or model as the one you’re taking out. It is always best to replace parts with original manufacturers parts. Grey Market parts may be cheaper but you’ll probably run into problems with them sooner than OEM parts.

If you’re simply changing the Oil make sure you use proper recommended type and amount. Many people change their oil infrequently but on my own cars I change the oil every 3000 miles. Along with the oil I also recommend changing the oil filter. I know many folks will say that this a waste of money, but remember a few years ago there was a commercial from either an oil company or a filter company that said “….you can pay me now, or you can pay much more later…..”! while changing the oil also consider changing the Air Filter to allow you engine to breath more efficiently. Check the windshield washer fluid and the brake master cylinder fluid level.

And finally, check your windshield wipers to make sure they are clearing the windshield without streaking.

Before re-connecting your Battery check with your dealer service department what, if any, precautions you should take before. They may also impart information on what you may need to do to reset your clock and in some cases on newer cars reset the ‘computer’!

OK, Let’s get the show on the Road!

Ok, it’s been a while since I started this new hulla-balloo and I almost forgot about this thing. So now where do we start?

Well to be quite honest I heard that there is money to be made by using ‘affiliate marketing/advertising’ so, since I am not averse to making a few bucks, I thought let’s give it a try. And that’s why I am here.

Of course since I am a ‘newbie’ to this endeavor you’ll probably see me making some mistakes in trying to build this thing up. First of all I need to learn the new ‘talk’. Such as ‘Post’, and ‘WordPress’, etc.

I thought I would take a shortcut to get rolling and decided to contract with a service that supposedly would create websites all set up to produce the desired results! And of course, as you can probably guess, that was my first mistake. Oh, this company did set up a fairly good web site with a few ads and even a link to Google. However they did not take Google’s restrictions into account and therefore Google cancelled the connection. After re-applying to Google we finally got their approval and did link up with them. Of course next we found out that both Google and Amazon require special link code in their connections and this link code was not inserted into the connection links. So as you can imagine my desire to make a couple extra bucks was a long a way off. As a matter of fact I have yet receive any decent activity from that particular web page.

Next I found out that Ads from advertisers disappeared from the page without my knowing. Calls and support e-mails were not answered in a timely fashion. Requests for assistance with how and where to place the advertisers link code were not answered.

So that is why I am now here and trying the whole thing on my own. I ask that you bear with me as I struggle through this process of getting there.

I will attempt to provide sufficient information so that you (the reader) will be able to actually use it.

With that in mind try this link to see what I mean.

WHY???

You may wonder why there is a ‘Fast Antique Car’ on the Home Page.

Well, we originally intended this site to be only for Household stuff, such as Freezers, Refrigerators, Washers, Dryers, etc.! But we decided to add some excitement to the Page for those of you who like Fast Cars.

So, since the items mentioned above don’t usually go around Race Tracks at a fast clip, we have (or will soon) add a link to let you take a ride with a professional driver around the fast, well known Nuerburg Ring in Germany. This is the longest ‘Race Track’ in the world at 22 Kilometers.
